Meet Stetson! He’s a 3-year-old boy with a sense of adventure.
This sweet boy had a rough start, but luckily his human mom saved him from a life of suffering.
His mom, Laurel, tells us all about him in the story below.
A Tragic Start
I adopted Stetson from a lady in a trailer park. My friend was feeding him at the time.
The lady would leave him out in all kinds of weather, left to fend for himself.
My friend asked the lady if it was okay if I took him and she said yes.
Stetson joined my family on November 6, 2020.
Now he’ll never have to worry about being cold or wondering where his next meal will come from.
He lives like a king!
Why did you name him “Stetson”?
Before he was rescued, the lady at the trailer park had named him “cat”.
I changed his name to Stetson to honor my last kitty named Dallas.
Dallas saved me after my mom passed away.
It was during the worst year of my life, but Dallas was there for me.
Since a lot of people in Dallas wear Stetson cowboy hats, I named him Stetson.
His name was a sweet way to pay respect to Dallas.
What is Stetson’s Personality like?
He can be a brat at times! He always wants to go outside.
The only way he can do that is on a harness and leash. My neighborhood has too many speeding cars. He is safe on the harness and leash.
Stetson is also very loving and affectionate! He’s a true sweetheart.
He can be mischievous but that normal for a cat.
He’s also definitely a character. He sings a little song as his way to tell me he wants to go outside.
What does Stetson like to do for fun?
He loves sunbathing and watching birds and squirrels.
Stetson also loves tinkering with his catnip stuffed pillows and chasing his favorite ball with bells.
He’s a very spoiled kitty. He doesn’t know the word no.
Even though he wasn’t given the name Stetson in the beginning, he answers to his new name.
I think Stetson is so handsome. He has the softest fur I have ever felt.
Stetson has helped my severe depression. I’m not so alone anymore and I have a little fuzzball to take care of.
I’m so happy this sweet boy entered my life!
